A brief explanation about the new pictureline community!

When we founded pictureline.com as a website more than ten years ago, our goal was to promote photographers and their photography. Even then, we believed that sending a portfolio across the country via FedEx was a thing of the past, so we founded the original portfolio site on the web. However, we proved to be slightly ahead of the curve. After 2 years, well over $100,000 invested, and about 1500 web pages created, we took the site down and brought it back a year later in its current format: a shopping website to support our brick and mortar operation.

October 2007 marks the 10th year of this converted pictureline.com website. We feel it is now appropriate to turn our attention again to all those great photographers that have made pictureline what it is today. We have worked hard to define a concept and design that meets the goals of our original website and the needs of our photographers today. To that end, we have created a community in which we can promote our photographers and their work.

We hope that you will join our community by adding your bio and images to the site. Your participation not only helps us create a directory of professional photographers from across the country and the world, but it also provides one more way to link the world to you.
