About the IPPA
The IPPA or Intermountain Professional Photography Association exists (among other things), to help professional photographers develop their skills, raise and improve the standard of professional photography, and to foster new and creative ideas for their business. Being active in the organization and taking advantage of the many educational opportunities sponsored by the IPPA will enhance and improve your talents as a professional photographer.
During the year there are scheduled at least three quarterly seminars and other various activities. These seminars generally consist of one-day events with well-known speakers who present subjects of interest to all of us aspiring to learn and achieve greater success in our field of photography. Additionally once a year, during the fall, we get together for our annual convention, which runs three days and includes one of the larges photographic trade shows and print competitions in the area. Scholarships to approved PP of A photographic schools are also given away at the Quarterly and Annual Conventions.
Membership in the IPPA gives you the chance to make new friends and learn what other professional photographers are doing and how they are solving some of the same problems and challenges you may have.

Photowalking Utah is a photography group that has monthly events in and around Northern Utah. The events are open to photographers of all skill levels. With a deserved nod to Thomas Hawk's now famous San Francisco Photowalks, the first Salt Lake City Photowalk was held on a rainy Saturday on October 6th, 2007. With just a handful of the original founding members on this 'walk, the word spread and participation quickly grew.
After beginning life originally as Photowalking Salt Lake City, the name was changed to Photowalking Utah shortly after to meet the expanding geographic scope of outings being held by the group. With no desire to be overly official, the group has been humorously referred to as a "group of like-minded individuals who get together regularly for fun and learning".
After over two plus years of successful monthly (and impromptu) outings, Photowalking Utah has grown to over 600 members and has great prospects for continuing the fun into the future.
Keep up to date with announcements on the official website at PhotowalkingUtah.com for the latest information on upcoming events and the Flickr group message boards for discussions on prior outings.

Saturday Mar 27, 2010 • Ogden, UT
Cost: $95.00
Class Code 301 EX
“Expedition: "Historic Barns and Granaries“
Expedition / Field Trip Seminar
This is an all day seminar taught entirely in the field. This expedition explores several of the most important agricultural structures in northern Utah. Granaries were at the center of pioneer family sustenance, and the granary buildings were made to last. Even so, time is slowly taking them away from us. Many still remain, if you know where to look. We will photograph the unique and historical Barns and Granaries of North Ogden and Pleasant View, Utah.
We will learn about the history of each property and document this rapidly disappearing part of American history. Tour the famous Hall Fruit Farm, Campbell Fruit Farm, and several others, during this tour. Make photographs of beautiful and traditional barns, with towering Mount Ben Lomond as a background. Meet and photograph the barn cats, cows, horses and sheep that we find. Discover an antique farm truck buried in a sealed up fruit barn. This is an excellent seminar for young people who may not understand the agricultural lifestyle of the twentieth century. Dress for the prevailing weather and wear dry sturdy footwear.
You’ll have a very satisfying day in the outdoors and an experience you’ll never forget. The fee includes transportation, instruction, access to the properties and a good hot lunch at a fun little cafe.
A “Photographer Development Series” certificate will be awarded to those completing the course.
