John Evans has been at the helm of Petzl America's marketing since 1999. Prior to that, he spent eight years as the marketing director at Climb High in Shelburne Vermont. An avid lifelong shooter (starting in the first grade with a Kodak Instamatic), his marketing career has given him great insight into the photographic arts. Shooting at a professional level since 2001, his work is focused on the hard-to-capture world of climbing and other adventure sports like canyoneering. His photos have been published in Rock and Ice, Climbing, Urban Climber, Gripped, Klettern, REI, Mountain Gear and dozens of other publications. He also teaches climbing photography at the annual Red Rock Rendezvous in Las Vegas to benefit the Access Fund.
John is a board member of the Access Fund, a national climbing advocacy group. He and his wife Rose along with their twin boys live in Salt Lake City.
