Has it happened
to you? You return from a great photo
trip just in time to drop your film off at the lab to take advantage
of the overnight run. The morning counter
person is not surprised
to see you first thing in the morning,
standing before a still locked door, to pick up those precious slides.
You hustle home, having edited out a group
of images, one at each red light, and fire up the electronic workstation
in your fortress of solitude. You begin your first scan when a sharp
beep punctuates your stupor. You can’t believe it has been a
half an hour all ready. You sag with disappointment to realize it
will take until Thursday to finish scanning the first batch of slides.
Well, no more my friend. Nikon has just
released a new family of slide scanners
destined to end this foggy haze. The new
Super
Coolscan 5000 ED will zip out a full resolution
scan in only 20 seconds, thanks to the
new 2-line CCD sensor. This powerful unit
delivers up to a 4000 dpi optical scan resolution transported
through a Nikkor ED high resolution lens
with a detailed packed maximum density
of 4.8.
The new digital ICE 4 now contains four
cutting edge image-correction components
for operational efficiency. Digital ICE
removes defects or scratches on the surface
of the film without compromising detail. Digital ROC
brings faded colors back to life. Digital
GEM helps reduce film gain for sharper
images. And the new Digital DEE activates the Dynamic
Exposure Extender. This new tool helps
reveal hidden details in both highlights
and shadows and compensates for both under and over
exposure. The speedy new Nikon Scan 4 software
drives all of these great features.
Are you ready to save time and get more
bang for your buck? We have them in stock
at pictureline now*. Check
out all three new scanners in the Nikon
family, here in our Digital
Scanners section.
*The Super Coolscan 9000 (medium format)
will be available sometime in February.
