| Pros: *Bright.
*Versatile.
*Remote Commander.
*Compact, yet don't let that fool you.
*Battery combinations (4 or 5 cells for various reasons).
*Incredible battery life in standby mode (no need to remove batteries when not in use for a few weeks even). Cons: A little quirky in the menu operations, but one can get used to it. Plastic (so many flashes are nowadays, but I suppose that's a weight/balance thing) - even so, it has withstood punishment without showing the signs after nearly two years of studio, location, mountainous, desert, use etc.. Other Thoughts: The only way to go with Nikon cameras. Pefect TTL integration and zoom capabilies. Versatile as both a location flash, especially with one or two more in remote modes, and even studio use. Amazingly simple and convenient to use in commander mode with other speedlights. Fast regen (slower on max output of course). Using Pre-Charged or Hybrid type NiMH has yielded better results than Alkalines or the seemingliy (on paper) higher capacity standard NiMH. For some reason the "pre-charged" (made in various incarnations by a few manufacturers) are vastly superior inumbers of flashes and of course their longevity in storage. You just don't need to charge as much. Diffuser lens, diffusion dome, and bounce card all in the box - have numerous uses and allow for great experimentation. | |

| Pros: I've owned Nikon products for almost 10 years now, and over the years their flash system has gotten better and better. The off camera TTL with this is amazingly accurate, and consistent. Being able to separate 3 different groups from my D2x gives me a level of control that has me leaving my Profoto location kit at home more that I would have expected. Cons: Becoming addicted to adding more and more flashes to your stockpile = $$$ | |
