Photoshop and Lightroom Live Workshops - 2012

While we've highlighted hands-on photographic workshops in a variety of genres, we have not yet touched on some live software seminars around the country, some one-day events and others several day events.  Carol Dragon, noted be one of the country's best instructors, will be doing a once-a-week Photoshop course in New York City, which allows for the working professional a unique college course-type environment.  Many others offer one-day events such as the Kelby Training Live, and still others offer multi-day events as sort of a "bootcamp" experience for photographers.  These courses are definitely in-person and live.  While this approach appeals to some, others may find the online courses more accessible with the added ability to replay the course in the comfort of their own home as many times as they'd like.  Such online courses such as lynda.com and Kelbytraining.com are inexpensive and can accompany seminars or be the sole method for learning these sometimes difficult software programs.

2012 DIGITAL EDGE WORKSHOP BY TONY SWEET IN BADLANDS, SOUTH DAKOTA (Sept 15-19, 2012)

In these exclusive Digital Edge workshops with Tony Sweet, the number of participants is capped at five, to ensure maximum personal attention both in the field and classroom. In addition to shooting every day, participants will also spend several hours in the classroom learning essential and creative use of software plugins on images you’ve shot earlier. During these daily critique sessions, shooters will work on those images using Photoshop with Nik Software plug-ins, Alien Skin, Topaz, Nik HDR Efex Pro and Photomatix HDR software.  There will also be ample individual help with RAW processing and demonstrations of workflow. At each shooting location, Tony will discuss how to "shoot for the software” and pre-visualize the final results, which may not be readily apparent when viewing a scene. A work CD will be included, so everyone can learn the software on the same set of images. A DVD containing Tony’s instructional videos is also included.
