I needed to hang my camera up and over the top of a 9' chain link fence, on a bridge. The rig I built is basically a compact jib. If the mount failed, my camera and lens would be gone with no way to retrieve it. I didn't want to trust a lesser mount with a couple grand worth of camera equipment. There are plenty of other things to worry about on this shoot. It is nice to know the camera mount isn't one of them. ;-)
