Join Pictureline and FujiFilm for our UV/IR Forensics Photography Workshop June 6-7, 2018. This two day workshop covers basic camera functions for use in forensic photography as well as UV and IR photography. In this course, you’ll learn the ins and outs of crime scene photography from FujiFilm's Forensics Expert Julio Sosa. Julio has over 10 yrs of experience in UV/IR Forensic photography. Has worked with the FBI, USSS and numerous state and local law enforcement agencies.

Date: June 6-7, 2018
Time: 9:00am - 5:00pm with a 1hr lunch break (lunch is not included).
Location: Pictureline Class Room, 305 West 700 South, Salt Lake City UT 84101

We'll be discussing the following topics:

  • XT1-IR Camera Features and Functions overview
  • Working with Fujifilm Film Types and Onboard Filters
  • Creating custom White Balance for General and UV/IR Photography
  • Flash Features and Functions
  • Working with Flash cord
  • Fundamentals of Full Spectrum photography (wavelengths channels)
  • Working with Lights, Visible Spectrum and Nonvisible Spectrum.
  • Using Infrared and Ultraviolet Filters with XT-1IR
  • Photographing Latent Fingerprints (Practical)
  • Photographing Blood Spatter (Practical)
  • Photographing Gun Shot Residue (Practical)
  • Photographing Tattoos (Discussion)
  • Photographing Footwear Impressions (Discussion, practical where available)
  • Photographing Bruises and Wounds (Practical)
  • Scanning a Crime Scene (Discussion)

If you have the Fuji X-T1 IR camera bundle, you are encouraged to bring it to the training. We’ll also be using Adobe Lightroom to go over the steps of post processing such as importing images, understanding nonlinear processing, and revealing evidence. For this section of the workshop, make sure to bring a laptop with Adobe Lightroom on it. You can download a free trial of the software HERE.
