Description

Explore the boundless realm of night photography with the Dusk to Dawn Book (2nd Edition). In the bygone era, landscape photography was confined to daylight, concluding as the last glimmer of dusk vanished. However, with the advent of advanced digital cameras, a new chapter in nocturnal landscape imagery has unfolded. No longer a realm exclusive to the imagination, contemporary photographers armed with off-the-shelf cameras now venture into the darkness, capturing awe-inspiring scenes far from the city lights.

Your gateway to this captivating photographic world is Dusk to Dawn: A Guide to Landscape Photography at Night, 2nd Edition. Renowned photographer Glenn Randall, author of the bestselling The Art, Science, and Craft of Great Landscape Photography, imparts invaluable insights on planning, capturing, and processing professional-grade images. Learn the art of photographing the Milky Way, auroras, lunar eclipses, meteor showers, comets, star trails, and landscapes illuminated solely by moonlight.

In this extensively revised second edition, Randall delves into the latest technology transforming night landscape photography. From the dominance of mirrorless cameras in the market, requiring a nuanced approach to focusing, to indispensable apps like Photo Pills and Photo Ephemeris Web for successful shoots, this edition equips you for the evolving photographic landscape. The updated content also features a plethora of new photographs by the author and a dedicated section on photographing comets.

Throughout the book, Randall guides you on seamlessly integrating stunning depictions of the night sky with equally compelling renditions of the earthly landscapes below. The result: complete landscape images that not only capture a sense of place but also evoke a profound sense of wonder. Armed with the knowledge gleaned from these pages, readers can embark on their journey to create their own nocturnal masterpieces.
