Medium Format Lenses

Medium format lenses are designed for cameras that have an imaging sensor or film that is larger than 24x36mm. These lenses are physically larger than their standard or crop format counterparts due to the need to create a larger image circle for the medium format cameras. Most medium format lenses are fixed focal length, or prime lenses, but as optical designs have improved over the years some zooms are now available. As with standard and crop-frame formats, there are medium format lenses that are designed for SLRs or mirrorless camera systems.
