We're here to support the growth of underrepresented voices in photography, videography, and filmmaking, and show the world that with just a little support, women creators can achieve the same great careers as their male counterparts. ARE YOU THE ONE?

What do you dream of when you're at your best? What can you achieve with the right support? Who can you become if someone gave you the tools to get there? You can be one of the six Creators-in-Residence who will receive the support to pursue their career goals or their filmmaking project. In this six-month program, we'll help you expand your horizons by setting you up with substantial funds to alleviate financial stress, state-of-the-art Sony gear to create your best work, and an award-winning mentor to light the way.

 

PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEOGRAPHY | 4 WINNERS

$21,000 to remove what's been holding you back and take your career to the next level.

$5,000 in gear — A new camera and lens? More lenses and accessories for the camera you already have? You choose. And if it's still not enough, we'll loan you more.

Mentorship from a successful Alpha Female photographer or videographer. Extensive education opportunities. Networking events with other creators and industry personalities. And much more.

 

FILMMAKING/CINEMATOGRAPHY | 2 WINNERS

$21,000 to create the short short you’ve been dreaming of, and access to Sony’s resources in Los Angeles, CA, including the Sony DMPC and Sony Pictures resources.

$5,000 in gear — A new camera and lens? More lenses and accessories for the camera you already have? You choose. And if it's still not enough, we'll loan you more, including some of our Pro cinema cameras.

Mentorship from a successful Alpha Female filmmaker. Extensive education opportunities. Networking events with other creators and industry personalities. And much more.

2. Create a budget

List the main things you expect to spend your grant on—you'll be able to refine this plan after you win.

3. Show your best work

Upload up to five photos or videos for photographers and videographers, and one video sample for filmmakers.

4. Introduce yourself

Let us meet you and tells us about what makes you, you, and why you're meant to be a winner in the program.
