
This introductory Sony Cinema class is designed for aspiring & current photographers, filmmakers, videographers, and content creators who want a clear, practical understanding of Sony’s cinema camera ecosystem and how to shoot their own videos and films. Participants will learn the fundamentals of Sony cinema color science, codecs, and other settings, with a focus on how these elements impact real-world production.
The class covers core camera settings, menu navigation, and exposure tools to help users confidently operate Sony cinema cameras on set. Attendees will also explore lens choices, recording formats, and basic workflow considerations from capture through post-production. Hands-on demonstrations will illustrate best practices for achieving consistent, cinematic results in a variety of shooting scenarios. By the end of the workshop, participants will have a solid foundation to begin shooting professional video with Sony cinema cameras.
Meet Your Instructor:

Alex Everett is a Sony Digital Imaging Representative serving Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho and Montana. Over ten years ago, he began his career in photography as a wedding photographer. He graduated from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Wash., and quickly returned to the University to serve as an Athletic Director for Communications, where he managed the visual identity of all 23 varsity sports and various aspects of department & gameday operations. Now on the Sony Alpha team, Alex is thrilled to continue to pursue his passion for both education and photography full time.
