The Tiffen 62mm IRND 3.0 10-Stop Neutral Density Filter provides a 10-stop exposure absorption and an Infra-Red (IR) pollution blocker/absorption layer. The high density blocks light emission of the visual spectrum into the camera, allowing you to photograph with a much slower shutter speed or at a wider aperture than required. This gives the photographer two techniques; the filter is ideal then for long exposures in which anything with movement in the image is desired to appear blurred, and the second, is in which the photographer needs to use faster or more wide open lens apertures to create less depth of field for more emphasis on the subject and less on the background and foreground.
The IR blocker/absorption layer eliminates Infra-Red pollution which has been attributed to long exposures on smaller crop sensors with the use of heavy neutral densities. IR Pollution is a very disappointing reddish magenta or wine colored stain of the image, most noticeable in the shadows.
The ColorCore process allows Tiffen to control the color and density of their filters, and the characteristics of special effects filters with much greater accuracy than typical dyed-in-the-mass filters, which usually exhibit color and density variations. In this way, Tiffen can better control the various densities of their filters and thereby create more exact degrees of filtration.
Tiffen IRND 3.0 10-Stop Neutral Density Filter Features & Benefits:
- Reduces amount of light passing through camera lens without allowing IR pollution
- Especially useful in bright light conditions to help prevent overexposure; balances exposure
- Eliminates overly bright, washed out images
- Allows for more control over depth-of-field
- Allows slower shutter speeds to produce blurred motion effects.
- Made of water white glass
