Canon Inc will release 2 new firmware updates on Dec. 21, 2004 @ 10am (JST).

(That will be Dec 20, @ 8pm EST due to the 14 hour time difference.)

EOS-1D Mark II firmware v1.1.0:

1. Improvements to AF tracking in AI Servo AF.
proves the AF tracking when using the AI Servo AF to shoot low-luminance or low-contrast subjects.
2. Reduced time between when the camera is turned on and when it is ready to shoot.
Time reduction is now 0.3 seconds (0.5 sec. was previous)
3. Support added for the Wireless File Transmitter WFT-E1.
4. All other previous firmware updates are included within this update.

Reduces the color differences between RAW and JPEG thumbnail images when viewing thumbnails in the bundled RAW-image development application Digital Photo Professional.
Note: The color of thumbnail images may differ somewhat even with the Version 1.0.3 firmware, depending on the scenes being shot. If this is a concern, please try Digital Photo Professional’s Save Thumbnail function, which can be found in the File menu.
