Olympus announces firmware update for E-3 DSL

Olympus Imaging America Inc., Center Valley, Pa., announces a firmware update for the Olympus E-3 DSLR. This E-3 firmware update will allow E-3 users to select the AF target by pressing the arrow keys, improve AF accuracy when using fast lenses with f2.0 aperture, improve C-AF performance, and improve battery life when using the HLD-4 battery holder, says the company.

This update will reset all camera settings to factory settings, so it would be best to record camera settings before updating the firmware, advises Olympus. The firmware can be updated through Olympus Master software, instructions are available online.
