KeyMission 360 Arrives In October

keymission-blogAt CindexES this year, Nikon surprised us all when they announced the KeyMission 360.  Back then we knew it was a 360 degree camera that would shoot 4K, have WiFi and was going to have a waterproof design, but we now know more details.  Yesterday Nikon revealed that the camera would have two 20-megapixel (1/2.3-inch) sensors, a swappable battery, electronic image stabilization, in-camera footage stitching, a built in stereo microphone, and it's waterproof up to 98-ft and shockproof.

Nikon Ambassador Corey Rich explained why the KeyMission 360 is so revolutionary. "The camera creates a single video file that is easy to upload to your social media channel to share with your friends, your family and the world at large, and the coolest part is that they have the opportunity to go into that footage and look at whatever part of that scene they are most interested in.You can view it on your smart phone or tablet where you can swipe to navigate. You can actually move the device to change y360-cameraour view.  You can view it on your computer and in that case you use your mouse to navigate through the 360 sphere, or you can use virtual reality headsets, which really allow you to immerse yourself in the 360 world."

Before we had 360 degree views, our films were stories of what happens in front of the camera.  Now the audience gets to experience the rest of the story.  From the action adventure enthusiast being able to share every angle of kayaking down a river, or jumping out of a plane. To everyday families capturing moments in their life and reliving them afterwards as if they were standing right there again. The KeyMission 360 is changing how we capture and share our life's favorite moments.

Along with the KeyMission 360, Nikon announced two other action adventure cameras, the KeyMission 170 and the KeyMission 80. The KeyMission 170 is capable of Ultra Wide-Angle Video in 4K Ultra HD. It has 170 degree wide angle view, waterproof up to 33 feet and can be attached to objects. The KeyMission 80 is a small package with 80 degree views.  It is waterproof and shockproof and includes hands-free shooting modes and simple, fast operation.
