Product Information
A Compact Cinema Camera Built for Real Productions
The Sony FX5 brings a full-frame, fully stacked 5K Exmor RS CMOS sensor and the BIONZ XR2 processor into a compact Cinema Line body. Its fast readout, 15+ stops of latitude in S-Log3, and cinema-focused controls give solo operators and production crews a flexible platform for documentary, commercial, narrative, and branded work.

5K Open Gate and Internal X-OCN
Record 5K Open Gate in a 3:2 aspect ratio at up to 60 fps, or capture 4K at up to 120 fps. Internal 16-bit scene-linear X-OCN recording is available in LT, C1, and C2 options, allowing productions to balance image quality, file size, and RAW workflow needs without an external RAW recorder.

Three Base ISOs and Dual Gain
Base ISO settings of 800, 4000, and 12800 help match the camera to changing light levels. Dual Gain Shooting extends flexibility in difficult scenes by preserving highlight and shadow information while controlling noise.

AI-Assisted Focus and Stabilization
Integrated AI processing supports subject recognition for people, animals, and birds, while Fast Hybrid AF uses up to 759 phase-detection points. Five-axis in-body stabilization, Active Mode, and Dynamic Active Mode provide multiple options for steadier handheld shooting.

Production-Ready Monitoring and Connectivity
The 3.5-inch, four-axis touchscreen is supported by waveform, histogram, false color, Focus Map, and anamorphic de-squeeze tools. Dual CFexpress Type A/SD card slots, full-size HDMI, two USB-C ports, 2.5GBASE-T Ethernet, 802.11ax Wi-Fi on supported 6, 5, and 2.4 GHz bands, timecode support through USB Port 2, and remote operation through Sony Monitor & Control help the FX5 fit into connected productions.
