In this open-style, hands-on event, you will learn how to start taking better flash pictures with confidence. Join us for an exciting day of exploration and see how to blend multiple light sources using the completely portable Phottix Lighting system. Learn how to add light outdoors using High Speed Sync (HSS). Venture further to create dramatic dark skies in bright sunlight!

We will illustrate common challenges "natural light" photographers face and how a few simple techniques can elevate the quality your images.

  • Understanding basic light theory

  • Learning both manual and TTL flash and the benefits of each

  • How to use your flash off camera

  • Understanding High Speed Sync

We will also discuss what products you would need to help you achieve this new knowledge and skill set. This event is for those that have a DSLR camera and either have a flash or are considering purchasing one soon. You will soon have a much better understanding of light and how to apply that knowledge to get the most from your flash photography!

Fred Windholz is a seasoned photographer based out of Central Pennsylvania with over 25 years of experience. Having photographed landscape, sports, portraits and weddings, Fred has developed a keen knowledge of lighting. In the past 12 years, Fred has specialized in both portrait and wedding photography. He is a member of the Professional Photographers of America, a Phottix Pro Team member and has won awards for his work. Fred is a consummate student of his craft as well as a mentor to fellow photographers.
