Sony recently announced some brilliantly bright new staples to their E-mount lens lineup -
Sony 24-70mm f2.8 FE GM E-Mount Full Frame Lens, Sony 70-200mm f2.8 FE GM OSS E-Mount Full Frame Lens, and the Sony 85mm f1.4 FE GM E-Mount Full Frame Lens
They are scheduled to ship in upcoming weeks, and are available for order. We are particularly excited for the new large-aperture zooms. They pull Sony up to speed with other full frame competitors, and really complement the mastered low light capabilities of the Alpha series. The size of these lenses will be more balanced to lightweight mirrorless bodies than an adapted Nikon or Canon alternative, and offer the most reactive autofocus option available to the series.
If you're still debating the switch to mirrorless lenses, we just added more Metabones adapters to our rental collection (as well as Sony A7R II and A7S II bodies, and Sony lenses). These adapters maintain some autofocus function of non-Sony lenses when mounted to any e-mount body, though are not considered optimal for high-speed performance.
This release means instant savings for many of Sony's tried and true favorites like the unbeatably sharp Sony 35mm f1.4 Distagon T* FE ZA E-Mount Full Frame Lens, the popular Sony 55mm f1.8 Sonnar T* FE ZA E-Mount Full Frame Lens, and many others lenses, grips, and accessories.
