Canon Says Happy Birthday EOS 5D Series with the Launch of a Revolution.

Canon5DSLaunch

Canon is celebrating ten years of successful technology development in the EOS 5D lineup with a new addition.

Pictureline celebrated the 10th anniversary of our preferred Canon DSLR series – the EOS 5D – by launching the EOS 5DS and 5DS R on June 4th. Our guests had an opportunity to witness the 50.6 megapixel high-resolution firsthand and experience the product in a practical tutorial. This is the most revolutionary sensor digital cameras have ever utilized and is available in an affordable package. After our unique hands-on session with the new cameras, we are thrilled to watch how Canon’s new EOS 5DS and 5DS R unfolds beside the previously praised models in the EOS 5D lineup.
What do "S" and "R" stand for? EOS 5DS stands for the superior canon-standard HR_5DS_5DS_R_COMBINATION_CLperformance, while the EOS 5DS "R" signifies next-level resolution imaging. For photographers wanting the ultimate in high resolution capture, the EOS 5DS R camera has a low-pass filter (LPF) effect cancellation. While a low-pass filter is useful to reduce color artifacts and moiré typical with digital capture, it also reduces detail at the pixel level. With the LPF removed, the EOS 5DS R takes full advantage of the original resolving power of the camera's 50.6 Megapixel sensor. More detail is captured and retained in the original image, perfect for landscape and commercial applications where pixel-level detail is scrutinized and when the sharpest possible image is needed.
Through the in-house production of all key parts for its EOS series digital cameras, Canon has created a highly robust line-up. The series was developed to be an essential element in every photographer and filmmaker’s equipment bag, and with the image quality of the EOS 5D Mark II, that’s exactly what they accomplished in 2008 by offering renowned Full HD video capture, and improved upon in 2012 with their enhanced EOS 5D Mark III. Each and every model within the series, including EOS 5D models, is equipped to deliver the very best image performance, thanks to the evolution of innovative technology. To support the diverse needs of photographers, Canon will continue to strengthen its EOS DSLR line-up, which enjoys widespread support from professional and consumer users alike.
